We have years of experience working with timber in many forms and have a range of equipment at our mill in Sussex that allows us to produce various finished products.
Our Stenner VJF42 bandrack sawmill can saw up to 42-inch diameter logs, our Forester Sawmaster can saw up to 66 inches and for something longer, our horizontal mebor HTZ1200 extreme bandsaw can cut long lengths up to 10 meters as well as large trees up to 1.5m diameter.
The logs are loaded onto the moving table and passed through the vertical bandsaw to turn the round wood into a rectangular piece of timber. The timber is transferred on conveyors to a smaller bandsaw (another Stenner) known as a re-saw to be converted down to smaller sizes (e.g. 4” x 2”). At this point, the slab wood (the curved edges of the tree) is separated to be air dried and then chipped for heating grade wood chip.
The smaller sections of wood can be transferred on conveyors to our cross-cut saw (this one’s a Wadkin) and cut to the correct length for the order.
We can also mortis and plane timber on site.
